Nicole Colchete (PhD Student): Nicole is a third year PhD student in the Educational Psychology program in the School of Education at University of California, Riverside. Nicole entered her program in Fall 2020, and transitioned from working in the workforce development field. Her research specialization is in spatial memory and diversifying participation in STEM education and the STEM workforce. Nicole is currently studying how using narrative storytelling in video game environments can improve spatial memory and be used to make barrier STEM courses more accessible to historically underrepresented students. 

Robert Wilbur

 

 

 

 

 

Robert Wilbur (PhD Student): Robert is a proud husband, father of two, and Ph.D. student of Educational Psychology in the School of Education at the University of California, Riverside. His research specialization is in spatial cognition, and broadening participation in STEM education. More specifically, he studies how interventions that leverage spatial cognition can improve learning and influence the retention and overall representation of underrepresented minority groups. Robert transferred to UCR in 2017 after working in a variety of technology-related roles at companies such as Apple, Google, and NASA, and completed his M.A in Educational Psychology in 2022
